Happy Canada Day!! Pedalhead will be closed for Canada Day in celebration of our awesome country! This means the Wednesday Night Group Ride is cancelled, but you should still be out riding anyway. Check out the Canada Day Criterium at the Legislature grounds Wednesday, with the fastest racers starting at 4:30pm. Masters categories and Cat 5 thru 3 start racing around noon, with each race lasting around 45 minutes. Cheer on members of the Pedalhead team and check out the most exciting form of road racing in the heart of Edmonton.

Canada Cup Weekend a Huge Success!! Saturday June 13 was the largest mountain bike race in Alberta, with Pedalhead racers swarming the ranks in just about every category. Stellar performances include Jason Redfern 5th in Novice, Elizabeth Boschma 1st in Novice Women, Brad Chisholm 9th in Sport(with a broken chain and spirit) Roddi Lega 7th in Pro/Elite, Eckehart Marenholtz 5th in Master Expert and Manuel Fehlmann 20th in pro/Elite in his first race as a Pedalhead rider. Get ready to rock Panorama Mountain Biking Resort at " Recession" prices!!!! For the 2009 Pedalhead Trip to Panorama, we're rolling back prices and going old-school. We'll be travelling to and from Panorama July 17-19 in 12 passenger vans, pulling a covered bike trailer, riding the lifts for 2 days, and staying at the luxurious on-hill Gold level condos.........all for only $249.00 + gst. That's $100 less than last year!!

Panorama rents DH bikes if you don't own one, and Pedalhead sells a wide rage of armour and full-face helmets to keep you protected on the mountain. Panorama has trails for just about everyone, so you don't have to be a seasoned downhiller to have fun. $100 non-refundable deposit holds your spot, balance payable 1 week prior to departure. Space is limited, so book your spot ASAP.

Huge News for Pedalhead August 1, 2009 Pedalhead Bicycle Works will be joining forces with Out of Bounds Ski and Snowboard. We'll be moving into their building at 6604-104st to expand our floorspace by DOUBLE for the spring/summer months, while still having a small spot for bikes during the winter. More parking, more space for cool bike stuff, more nordic skis, more repair shop space, more PEDALHEAD. Pedalhead Roadworks will take over our current space on Whyte Ave August 1 2009, as they've grown out of their location on 124st. Exciting news for Guri and his crew, as this will double their floorspace and offer much better parking.

We're very stoked to be moving in with Edmonton's premiere ski and snowboard shop, especially with the extra space it offers us. Have no fear, we'll still be a bike shop through the winter months as our new home will have an upstairs that Pedalhead will live in during the off-season. Wednesday Group Rides will continue as always of course, now we'll be a bit closer to Terwillegar but a bit further from Mill Creek.

Canmore Canada Cup Weekend The Canada Cup show stopped in Canmore last weekend, with great performances from Roddi and Manuel in Pro/Elite, Darcy in Expert, Evan and mechanic Brad in Sport. Olympian Geoff Kabush showed up to show everyone how it's done, while Emily Batty continued her winning ways in the women's Pro/Elite category. Alberta Cup next stop: Summer Solstice MTB race in Kananaskis June 28.
